I couldn’t tell him! Not only could I not tell him that I’m carrying the child he potentially doesn’t want, but I also allowed him to convince me to go to Texas to visit his family. Willow, you’ve done it now! I knew it was a bad idea to talk to him when I wasn’t ready, and then he showed up at my doorstep. I hadn’t prepared my heart for the possible rejection or on seeing him.

Hell, I’m still reeling from the news and have been unable to sleep thinking about everything having this baby will change in my life. It’s scary because telling him will most certainly lead to my mother and Audrey finding out which is somewhat bearable but my daddy knowing what I’ve done? I don’t want to disappoint him.

He’s always been my rock when I was in a hard place, and for him to find out I’ve been sneaking around with my twin’s fiancé will break his heart, and no doubt make him think differently of me. Honestly, I’ve never felt so scared and alone, and when Ben showed up at my house, I’m ashamed to say that I lit up at having him come to me, and by the time I left the diner, I hate to say I feel relieved.

I step off the elevator in my world when I bump headfirst into a pillar that was not there this morning. Groaning, I look up, getting a wild sense of déjà vu.

“Luka! Hey, how is everything with your mother?”

“Willow, hello, hermosa! (Beautiful) Everything is all well now. Thank you for asking. How is everything on your end with your family?” I shrug with a small smile.

“Same ol’, same ol’. Audrey is still happily engaged in planning the wedding with my mother by her side, and I’m just, well, me... and you?” He reaches out, rubbing my arm.

“You’re a spectacular woman Willow. Any man would kill to have you.”

“Oh yeah, what about you?” I tease.

“I am no longer on the market, lovely. When I went to visit my mother, she convinced me to go on many dates with her friend’s daughters while out there, and I must confess, I have fallen in love with the most dazzling of honeybees. Though I’d snatch you up and hide you for my eyes only if I were single.” I give him a look raising a brow smirking.

“You talk big Luka, but if your new woman heard you, she’d probably beat you over the head with a broom.” He bites his lips, looking off in the distance groaning.

“More like tie me up and whip me into submission, but I don’t have to worry about that right hermosa? I know you do not want me, for I could never make those sexy eyes light up like they did when you came back downstairs at the engagement party.” Ok, and at that second shocking statement, we pause staring at each other until I turn away embarrassed.

“Well, on that note, I’m going to go bury myself under my pillows out of shame.
